About the event

Artist Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2026 | 5-9pm

Jarrad Heaslip Gallery is excited to present Isaiah Philip: On View, the artist’s first solo exhibition and a presentation of his latest body of work.

Originally from Ebonyi State, Nigeria, and currently based in Detroit, Isaiah Philip is pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Painting at Wayne State University, where he also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Foundational Drawing. Working across oil, acrylic, charcoal, and mixed media, Philip’s practice explores portraiture, identity, belonging, and representation through a visual language informed by his Nigerian heritage and experiences within the African diaspora.

The exhibition will be on view from July 10 through August 1, 2026. Join us on Saturday, July 11 to meet the artist, experience the work in person, and celebrate the opening night.
