About the event
A statement from the the curator of Finite Versions of Infinity, Mike Ross: All art taps into the infinite, the ideas and things that have always existed and will always exist. The act of creation is like dipping your hand into a river, or sometimes, merely looking at your reflection in a pool or a lake, or the reflection of the trees on the other side. It’s fleeting but it’s also one part of the ongoing flow of the infiniteness of everything.
Taking something out of your mind and making it into an object in the world is a physical manifestation
of a mind which is, in a way, the only thing that exists; without perception there isn’t anything. Perception itself is infinite; you can always see further, feel more.
The four artists in this show, Zoe Beaudry, Erika Cross, Aaron DeShields, and Mike Ross, all practice the act of creation in different ways, with widely varying tools and methods. I wanted to present a well-rounded collection of work that shows artists - people -
engaged in their work, tapped into what is beautiful, maybe a little scary or dangerous at times, and
engaging. By the nature of the physical realm, the work is finite with a beginning and an end, but the ideas, the minds they come from, and the river these artists are dipping into are infinite. Please join us on October 10th from 5-9 pm for the opening reception of Finite Versions of Infinity to meet the artists over a glass of wine and some lite bites! The exhibition will be on view from 10/10/26 - 11/7/26.
